We all have the power to change and we have the innate drive and knowledge within. My role is to help you tap into that potential and facilitate growth while examining unhealthy patterns that are no longer serving you. Change can happen the moment you decide to move toward it, as you may be doing right now. I want to help you develop your creative and productive skills to create the life you want, while providing emotional support through your journey. My therapy work includes helping clients discard ineffective patterns while they build coping skills and create new healthy patterns to work through a variety of mental health and behavioral health issues.
My office is located near the downtown area in Fayetteville, Arkansas and is easily accessible to those in Northwest Arkansas. My office is also walkable from the University of Arkansas campus for college students.
I am a mental health professional with both a master of science in counseling and a doctorate in counselor education. I have been working in clinical and school settings with children, adolescents, and adults since 2009. I currently provide adolescent counseling, therapy for college students, adult counseling, and counseling for individuals wishing to better their relationships.
I am a member of the American Counseling Association and a board member of the Northwest Arkansas Center for Sexual Assault.
My degrees include:

What is The first session like?
You may be wondering what happens at a counseling appointment if you have never been to one before. Your first session is called an intake session. At this appointment your clinician gathers information about your presenting problem, family history, social functioning, primary relationships, symptoms, general health, your strengths, and your needs. This session may be a bit more focused on gathering information than on natural conversational flow. This gives your clinician information necessary to tailor your treatment specifically suited to your needs and learn how to tailor mental health treatment to meet your needs.
Following this appointment, most sessions will include discussion of your current concerns, while making connections to past patterns that may be influencing your current reactions, emotions, thoughts, and behaviors.
